The winners came from Hawley, Lancaster, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh, according to the festival's winner's list.

Here are the Pennsylvania winners:
Wallenpaupack Brewing Co., of Hawley, took the gold medal for its Kroon ale in the Belgian-Style Strong Specialty Ale Category.
Spring House Brewing Co., of Lancaster, took the gold medal for its Commander Salamander in the Specialty Berliner-Style Weisse Category.
Attic Brewing Co., of Philadelphia, took the silver medal for its Pitouchi ale in the Belgian-Style Strong Specialty Ale Category.
Burghers Brewing, of Pittsburgh, took the silver medal for its Smoke Control beer in the Smoke Beer Category.
- New Ridge Brewing Co., of Philadelphia, took the bronze medal for its Shock Treatment stout in the Coffee Stout or Porter Category.

The Great American Beer Festival invites industry professionals from all over the world to sit together in small groups and blind taste test beers in each category, according to the festival's website. The goal is to identify the three beers that best represent each category.
This Professional Judge Panel awards gold, silver, or bronze medals "that are recognized around the world as symbols of brewing excellence," the website states.
